Frames can be altered or approved before upholstering. Our frames and our ability to make them in-house adds to the ultimate customization experience. When clients receive furniture from us it is truly bespoke and one-of-a-kind. Luther Quintana Upholstery makes frames using the double-doweled joinery system, Kiln-dried maple frames and strong corner blocks. Oak or Mahogany legs are available in any design as well. Each step of the frame-making process ensures that each item will possess an heirloom quality and can be enjoyed for generations.

Our state-of-the art finishing booth allows us to make finish samples for approval by clients or replicate any desired finish, removing any doubts from their minds as to whether their end product will have the finish they demand. We can strip any paint or stain and leave faded, tarnished furniture looking new. Additionally, we can make reproductions of any antique furniture finishes if desired. We have hundreds of samples in our showrooms to choose from. We ceruse oak and bleach mahogany by hand-scraping the wood. This process gives the wood a rustic, more traditional look.

We use jute webbing and coiled springs that are carefully hand tied to ensure even distribution of weight. Our upholsterers are trained to use the old-world method of horse hair and burlap. Each hand-made piece is padded with cotton and wrapped in down to ensure the highest standard of comfort. Our furniture, draperies and soft goods are hand sewn enclosed.

Luther Quintana Upholstery is an excellent resource for re-upholstery. Our woodworking department allows us to not only recover clients’ furniture but also allows us to reinforce any deficient frame. The reinforcement of old, worn, tarnished frames leaves them stronger and makes for a better finished product. Old cushions can be re-stuffed with new foam cores or filled in with down. Clients never have to worry about the integrity of the frame, finish of the legs or the cushions because we take care of everything under one roof!
